Rune Bjerkestrand was born in Norway in 1963. He is graduated in Engineering and Master in Business Administration. After graduation, he created with some friends Cinnovator company, producing machines to convert digital movies to film. A few years later, he collaborated on the creation of Seed Vault, a ‘seed safe box’ made to preserve food for future world. Rune extended the idea to the preservation of other relevant information to the world and created PIQL company to storage off-line data in Svalbard archipelago, in Norway. In 2019, Museu da Pessoa was invited to store 100 hours of its collection in the World Arctic Archive, managed by PIQL and Store Norske, Norway’s government mining company.
